Smaltz to Consider HB 1097—Maybe.

Reports from yesterday’s March for Life indicate Public Policy Chairman, Ben Smaltz, may be considering a hearing for HB 1097.

Up until now, Smaltz, has refused to hear the bill and rejected all meeting requests from Hoosiers for Life.

However, when approached by another supporter of the Protection at Conception bill yesterday, Smaltz said he met with Rep. Curt Nisly last week to discuss the bill and will be meeting with him again this week to discuss the possibility of a hearing.

This is quite the change in rhetoric from Smaltz.

Has “pro-life” Republican, Ben Smaltz, changed his mind?

Has he decided ending the legalized killing of innocent babies is an important issue worth prioritizing?

Perhaps Ben Smaltz has decided to be civil toward unborn children in Indiana and realized he has the ability to stop dangerous abortionists from ripping arms and legs off of the tiniest boys and girls.

I sure hope so, because time is running out for 8,000 Hoosier babies this year.

If he is truly considering a hearing for HB 1097, Smaltz must decide quickly, and so now is certainly not the time to ease the pressure on the “gate keeper” of this life saving bill.

I know I’ve asked you to call him before, but I need you to call Smaltz again today at 317-232-9850 and urge him to hear HB 1097.

Please don’t wait—there really isn’t much time left!

Thank you so much for calling.  I know your phone calls are making a difference.

And thank you so much for supporting Hoosiers for Life.

Pro-life folks all over the state are excited when they hear about the Protection at Conception bill. While news about the bill is spreading, there are still like-minded individuals who have never heard about it.

We want the entire pro-life community in Indiana to know there is a way to protect all babies at the moment of conception!  Imagine if every pro-life person in Indiana were to call Ben Smaltz and demand a hearing for HB 1097 today!

At about $1 for each new person we reach, costs add up.  That’s why I hope you’ll consider chipping in $10 or $15 to help us reach our goal of 1,000 new supporters this week.  I’m so thankful for any little bit you can give to help protect all Hoosier babies.

Only days remain before HB 1097 will be dead, and along with it, thousands of pre-born babies this year alone.  I’m going to fight with all I have until the very end.  The lives of these helpless children are worth every effort.

For LIFE,

Amy Schlichter

Executive Director

P.S. Reports from yesterday’s March for Life indicate Ben Smaltz might be considering a hearing for HB 1097.  Please call Smaltz today at 317-232-9850 and urge him to grant this life saving bill a fair hearing and a vote.

After that, I hope you’ll consider chipping in $10 or $15 to help us reach more people with news about Curt Nisly’s Protection at Conception bill.
